Company files, somewhere everyone can find them.
File storage and sharing for a team, on the same account as the rest of the suite. Comsky Drive is in design — this page sets out what we are setting out to build, and does not describe something you can use today.
In design · Nothing to sign into yet · No date · Designed to open with the Comsky account you already have
The files a company shares, somewhere other than four laptops.
Every company has a set of documents everybody needs and nobody owns — the price list, the contract template, the brand pack. They end up on one person’s machine and in an email thread, and the version anybody is working from depends on when they last asked. That is the problem being designed for.
One place, not four laptops
A shared location for the documents the business runs on, so there is an answer to “where is the current one” that is not a person’s name.
Who can see it, and who can change it
Permissions as a setting rather than a convention. Finance should not be a folder everybody can open because nobody got round to it.
It belongs to the company
On the company account. When somebody leaves, the files do not leave with their personal cloud storage.
Comsky Drive is in design. This page is the brief, not the product.
There is nothing to sign into, no trial, no price and no date. We would rather this page said so in its own words than leave you to work it out from the absence of a Sign up button. It is being designed as shared file storage for a team, on the Comsky account the rest of the suite already uses, aimed at the documents a company shares rather than at personal storage.
What is settled
It is being designed as shared file storage for a team, on the Comsky account the rest of the suite already uses, aimed at the documents a company shares rather than at personal storage.
Anything beyond that — on this page or from anyone who works here — is a design intention and should be read as one.
What is not settled
- Where files would be stored, and in which country
- Capacity, limits and what counts towards them
- Desktop sync, a mobile app, offline access
- Versioning, sharing links and external access
- Whether it connects to Comsky Backup, and how
- Pricing, and any date at all
The interface shown on this page is a drawing of the design, not a screenshot of a running product. When there is a build to photograph, the drawing comes down.
Tell us where your files live now.
A NAS in the office, somebody’s Google Drive, a laptop, or all three at once — knowing which is what decides whether this product is worth building before the others.
Honest answers, including the unsatisfying ones.
Can I use Comsky Drive today?
No. It is in design — no build, no beta, nothing to sign into.
Will my files be stored in India?
We cannot promise that yet, and this page deliberately does not. Comsky Cloud does keep instances, volumes and snapshots in the Indian zone, and that is checked — but Drive has no infrastructure behind it at all, so there is nothing to make a residency commitment about.
Is this the same as Comsky Backup?
No, and the distinction matters. Backup is live: an agent copies whole drives into per-device encrypted storage the machine itself cannot delete from, so that you can get a machine back. Drive is about files people are actively sharing and working on. A backup is not a share, and a share is not a backup.
How much storage will I get?
Unset. Capacity, limits and price have not been decided, and inventing a figure here is the kind of thing a customer holds you to.
Will there be desktop sync?
Undecided. We would rather say so than list it as planned.
When will it ship?
No date. The early-access list hears first.
