Know what is being worked on, and by whom.

Projects, tasks, owners and dates, for teams tracking all of that in a spreadsheet today. Comsky Projects is in design; the page describes the product we intend to build rather than one you can open.

In design · Nothing to sign into yet · No date · Designed to open with the Comsky account you already have

What it is for

The two fields a spreadsheet always loses.

Almost every company that does not have a project tool has a spreadsheet instead, and it works for about three weeks. What goes first is never the task list — it is the owner and the date. After that it is a list of things somebody once thought should happen.

Every task has an owner

Work that belongs to the team belongs to nobody. A name against each item is the smallest thing that makes a list a plan.

And a date

Not an estimate, not a phase — a date, so that “are we behind” has an answer somebody can read off a screen.

Grouped the way you already talk

Projects, because businesses do not think in one flat backlog. The rollout, the refresh, the hiring round — each with its own list.

Where this actually is

Comsky Projects is in design. This page is the brief, not the product.

There is nothing to sign into, no trial, no price and no date. We would rather this page said so in its own words than leave you to work it out from the absence of a Sign up button. It is being designed around work that has an owner and a date, grouped into projects, for teams currently tracking all of it in a spreadsheet — and it opens with the Comsky account the rest of the suite already uses.

What is settled

It is being designed around work that has an owner and a date, grouped into projects, for teams currently tracking all of it in a spreadsheet — and it opens with the Comsky account the rest of the suite already uses.

Anything beyond that — on this page or from anyone who works here — is a design intention and should be read as one.

What is not settled

  • Which views exist — board, list, timeline, calendar
  • Dependencies, milestones, recurring work
  • Time tracking and whether it is in scope at all
  • Whether it connects to Orbit, Tickets or anything else
  • Mobile, notifications and reporting
  • Pricing, and any date at all

The interface shown on this page is a drawing of the design, not a screenshot of a running product. When there is a build to photograph, the drawing comes down.

Early access

Tell us what you track work in today.

“A spreadsheet” is a completely acceptable answer and the most useful one. It is the situation this product is being designed against.

Questions

Honest answers, including the unsatisfying ones.

Can I use Comsky Projects today?

No. It is in design — no build, no beta, nothing to sign into.

Will it do Gantt charts, sprints or dependencies?

Undecided, all three. The board in the illustration above is a drawing of one idea, not a commitment to that view or to any other.

Is there time tracking?

Not decided, and it is a bigger question than it looks: a tool that tracks hours is bought by a different person, for a different reason, than one that tracks work.

Will it connect to the other Comsky products?

The intent across the suite is one account and one customer record. Beyond that, nothing specific is settled for this product, so there is nothing here claiming a connection that does not exist.

When will it ship?

No date. The early-access list hears first.

What will it cost?

Unset, and shown as unset rather than guessed at.
