What Orbit never collects.
No keystrokes. No screen time. No location. No screenshots of anybody’s desktop. What Orbit holds is the work people agreed to and what happened to it — and each person can see all of their own, whenever they want, without asking.
Who sees what is decided on the server
Membership of a private channel, and every permission that follows from it, is settled server-side. Hiding something in the interface is not a permission, and nothing here depends on that.
One sign-in, with Comsky Auth
The same account as the rest of the suite, so joining and leaving a company happens in one place rather than in each app separately.
Pay data is encrypted and kept apart
What people earn sits behind its own encryption and its own narrow path through the code. A manager seeing their own team’s numbers is normal; it being invisible that they looked is not.
An audit log that cannot be quietly rewritten
Administrative actions are chained as they are written, so a later edit shows rather than disappearing. “Who changed that target” has an answer instead of a theory.
Our logs carry ids, not what you wrote
No message text, no channel names, no file names. Enough to find a fault, and not enough to read a conversation.
Your history is yours to take
Export the whole workspace whenever you want, in an open format, without asking us for it. Nothing is aged out to make you upgrade.
Orbit is in early access, and there is work still to do before a pilot workspace should hold real employee or pay data: offsite backups with a restore drill run on production, key escrow for the encrypted pay data, credential rotation across the build systems, outbound email — which invite links depend on — and the data-centre location confirmed in writing. Each of those is on us rather than on you. Orbit is safe to try with a team today; it is not somewhere to put real employee or pay data until they are done, and we would rather write that down than have somebody discover it.

One Comsky account, being rolled out across the products — and one invoice covers them, however many you run.
